Modular Worm Extruder - Construction and Function
|
 Detail |
Description of the Function:
The products are transported manually, by lift-and-tilt device or by conveyor into the infeed area
( 1 ).
The rotating worm shaft transports the products into the compression area ( 2 ) ,where they are compressed.
Here we have the simultaneous liquids separation. The liquids flow by gravity into the collection basin placed below the area. Optionally this area can be equipped with a pre-filtering unit from 40µm upwards.
The pressure of the compressed solids causes the pneumatically driven countercone (4) to draw back and open a circular aperture, through which the solids (3) leave the machine. Alternatively there are various conveying systems for removing the compressed solids.
- The drive power (5) varies between 2 KW and 30 KW
- Number of pressurised air cylinders (6) 2 to 4
The cleaning system (7) comprises two cleaning circuits: outside cleaning and inside cleaning
| Outside cleaning: |
|
8 round spray jets overlappingly clean all outer surfaces which have been in touch with the products.
|
| |
|
|
| Inside cleaning: |
|
Cleansing mediums ( acid / caustic solution / flushing liquid ) are injected into the rotating hollow
worm shaft. During the rotation the cleansing liquid is distributed through 6 flat jets. This ensures
an overlapping cleansing of the inside surfaces.
